Xsilva Releases LightSpeed 1.1

Xsilva Systems is proud to present LightSpeed 1.1, the highly-anticipated new release of its ground-breaking multi-user sales system for Mac OS X.

With LightSpeed 1.1, Xsilva redefines Point of Sale with the all-new LightSpeed POS, a stunning new 'floating' Point of Sale interface that streamlines and secures front counter retail checkout.

LightSpeed 1.1 also introduces a new GL Account Linking system for exporting accounting data to MYOB and QuickBooks, adds Accounts Receivable, Graphing in Intelligence and dozens of other new features and refinements.

LightSpeed POS

LightSpeed POS is the first Point of Sale interface that truly harnesses the power of Mac OS X and showcases its advanced Quartz graphics subsystem. Its the first POS to integrate the iSight camera right into the POS window to capture images of Products and Customers in real-time. And its also the first POS on OS X to operate in the context of a full multi-user sales workflow, powered by a high-performance SQL database.

LightSpeed POS is designed for high-speed scanner-driven front counter retail checkout. Its high-contrast, high-fidelity POS interface utilizes translucent OS X overlay displays to present information and images in side panels that reduce errors and fraud by helping a cashier quickly verify Products and Customers without distracting attention from the sales register.

Built-in iSight camera support enables real-time capture of Product and Customer photos right from within the POS. Plug and play support for barcode scanners, card swipes, receipt printers and cash drawers as well as VeriSign credit card processing deliver a complete POS solution for Mac OS X. The Station and POS Setup panels allow you to customize the POS interface with your company logo, set default POS preferences and configure POS hardware easily per station.

LightSpeed's extensive backend sales workflow and inventory management tools work in sync with retail POS stations, all powered by a high-performance OpenBase SQL database. Integration with LightSpeed's User and Privileges databases, Timesheets and Payment Reports allow for easy tracking of all daily activity on the POS.

LightSpeed 1.1 features the ability to import GL Accounts from MYOB or QuickBooks, link them to Products, Payment Methods and Taxes in LightSpeed, and easily export Sales, Payments and Purchases created in LightSpeed back to these popular accounting packages as journal entries or in IIF format. A PDF Manual for Accounting Exports is now available.

A new Accounts Receivable window allows the management of your customer accounts, with the ability to view receivables, apply payments and print statements. New accounting-related reports have been added to the Reporting window, including reports for Aging, Customer Balances, Inventory Valuation and more.

Intelligence now features Graphing for its new Monthly and Yearly Sales reports, providing an attractive way for business owners to visualize their sales trends.

LightSpeed 1.1 ships with a Universal Binary of the OpenBase SQL Database Server for maximum native performance on any Intel-based Mac server.

LightSpeed 1.1's client application is also being transitioned to a Universal Binary and currently runs in Rosetta on Intel-based Macs.

Jobs and Timesheets allows the conversion of a Job to an Invoice with a single click, a perfect solution for any company that bills for time. The Timesheet has also been optimized for businesses that choose to enter timesheets without using the timer features. Serial Number management and Cost Averaging have both seen improvements that prevent user errors that can adversely affect inventory accuracy.
