Xsilva is pleased to announce LightSpeed 1.1.1, a significant update to our LightSpeed 1.1 release, featuring an enhanced Tracker, Customer Groups and more.
LightSpeed 1.1.1 includes a revamped Tracker with alerts, date ranges, and filters, Customer Groups with advanced marketing search capabilities, an enhanced Accounts Receivable window, updates to Cost Averaging and Purchasing, Troubleshooting tools, Jobs and Timesheets enhancements, POS optimizations and receipt additions, new Gross Profit and Sales Summary reports, improved readability for all reports, a new look for the LightSpeed Toolbar and numerous fixes and optimizations.
Revamped Tracker
LightSpeed customers have adopted the Tracker as a way to keep on top of their daily sales and service activities, but requested that it be able to track everything more intelligently, with alerts, date ranges and filters.
The new Tracker delivers on this promise, so that for example, a Service department can create a Tracker that finds all SROs (repairs) of the status 'On Bench' that have not been modified in over 48 hours, or in other words, have gone 'stale'. This Tracker can also be set to 'Alerted' so that it appears red and bolded in the Tracker list.
Sales will want to use the 'Orders with Received Backorders to Reserve' and 'Orders with Reserved Backorders to Invoice' to stay on top of backorders and may want to use the new follow up date options in the Customer Calls and Notes drawers to set dates on which they want to follow up with customers. The Tracker can then be restricted to a date range to show who needs to be followed up with during that time frame.
Sales can also use the Tracker's new filtering ability to find invoices that
contained a particular product within a particular date range so that they
can contact customers to remind them of warranty renewal or training
opportunites.
Customer Groups
LightSpeed 1.1.1 allows the creation of multiple Customer Groups that can be assigned to Customers and Contacts using simple checkboxes. For example, one Contact may fit into the groups 'Friend', 'Reseller' and 'Sports Fan'.
Later, when you want to plan marketing activities to particular intersections of those groups, you can use the new Customer Advanced Find and Customer Browser to find the relevant Customers and Contacts and then print mailing labels or export a call or email list.
Accounts Receivable
Accounts Receivable now includes a customizable Customer drawer that lists all Customers who owe money and several other enhancements.
Availability
Xsilva LightSpeed 1.1.1 is available on our Downloads page to all registered LightSpeed users and as a Full Install or Update Install for our LightSpeed Trial users.
Several chapters of our PDF manual are now available.

Xsilva is pleased to announce the ambitious LightSpeed 1.0.3 release, which fulfills several major customer requests, including an easy-to-use and tightly-integrated Inventory Reservation system, a streamlined Sales/Purchasing workflow, Credit Card Processing via VeriSign merchant accounts, Multi-Currency support on Quotes, Orders, SROs and Invoices, Size/Color Matrix to automatically generate Product records and adjust inventory in clothing and apparel-based businesses, Search refinements/optimizations, new reports and numerous fixes and improvements.
Inventory Reservations
The new Inventory Reservation system allows a salesperson to reserve inventory on an Order. When the salesperson goes to invoice the Order, a dialog box allows the user to release the inventory so that it can be invoiced.
Orders are updated when requests are received, reserved, invoiced or cancelled so that Orders can be better tracked in the Tracker. This enables a new Sales and Purchasing workflow that makes it simple for salespeople to watch for Orders where products have been received and easily reserve or invoice the products. Purchasing now only receives requests when there is no inventory in stock to reserve or invoice.
The Inventory Reservation system can be enabled in the Company Setup panel but is turned off by default on upgraded LightSpeed installations. It is recommended for any business where inventory is held for customers.
Credit Card Processing on VeriSign
Credit Card Processing can now be configured through the VeriSign payment gateway using the VeriSign Setup panel. A new 'Process Credit Card...' button on the Payments tab of the Invoice window enables users to process credit card payments through the configured VeriSign payment gateway.
Please contact Heartland Payment Systems or Axia to get set up with credit card processing.
Product Size/Color Matrix
LightSpeed 1.0.3 adds a new Size/Color Matrix to the Product window for clothing and apparel-based businesses that lets these business owners create Product records and adjust inventory levels in a convenient grid format.
Multi-Currency Support
LightSpeed can now save Quotes, Order, SROs and Invoices in a currency other than the default currency by choosing a foreign currency from the new Currency popup menu. Clicking the 'Total' header on a Multi-Currency sales document displays a currency converter that allows you to see the total in your default currency and lets the user adjust the exchange rate or total to reflect the current value of the sales document. The Browser displays all amounts in the default currency and new Multi-Currency Sales reports break invoices down by currency.
Selling prices and costs on line items on a Multi-Currency invoice are not converted into the foreign currency. It is recommended you create a separate set of Product records for product pricing in a foreign currency, set the prices manually when invoicing in a foreign currency or create Pricing Levels for foreign currencies that you operate in often.
Availability
Xsilva LightSpeed 1.0.3 is available on our Downloads page to all registered LightSpeed users and as a Full Install or Update Install for our LightSpeed Trial users.
Several chapters of our PDF manual are now available, with additional chapters due before Macworld Expo. LightSpeed 1.0.3 will be Xsilva's final release before LightSpeed 1.1, due this January at Macworld Expo.

Xsilva LightSpeed reaches a new level of utility and refinement with version 1.0.2, featuring the all-new Serial Number History tool, Commission Reports with reusable presets, Invoicing Splits, Customers assigned to Salespeople, selectable Pricing Levels, Packing Slips, expanded Product Web tab for the upcoming LightSpeed Web Store, Show Current Users window, eight new Inventory History and Serial Number History reports, and over a dozen refinements to Purchasing, Customers, Invoicing and Browser.
Serial Number History tool instantly finds where a Serial Number has been referenced across all Invoices, POs, SROs and Inventory History records, and can even perform a GSX Lookup when GSX is configured.
The new Commission report category in the Reporting window allows Commission reports to be run on sales results with commission calculated at a specified rate, filtering by any combination of criteria or range of discounting. A Commission Report Presets drawer allows presets to be saved of specified commission rates, discount ranges and product filters.
Invoices can be split between two salespeople using the Split dialog box, shown when clicking the user name on an Invoice and selecting 'Split...' from the popup menu, by loading a customer who has been assigned to another user, or by converting from a Quote/Order/SRO created by another user to an Invoice. Customers can be assigned to a user using the Salesperson popup menu in the Customer window.
Pricing Levels can be set up in Pricing Levels Setup to store Costs in addition to multiple levels of Selling Prices for products, and can now be selected from a popup menu on Quotes/Orders/SROs and Invoices when multiple Pricing Levels are available for a product. In an Apple Reseller environment, this could be perfect for storing and accessing the Stock or Exchange price for an Apple part.
Xsilva LightSpeed 1.0.2 is available on our Downloads page to all registered LightSpeed users and as a Full Install or Update Install for our LightSpeed Trial users.
The Product and GSX chapters of our PDF manual are also now available, with several additional chapters to come this week.
